EFG International announced on Wednesday that Carlo Maturi has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of EFG Monaco.

Currently serving as CEO of EFG Monaco, Maturi will assume his new role on March 12, 2025, subject to regulatory approval. He succeeds Jean-Claude Gourrut, who is retiring after 15 years in the position.

Hervé Ordioni will take over from Carlo Maturi as CEO of EFG Monaco, reporting directly to Patrick Ramsey, EFG’s Head of Continental Europe & Middle East. According to the bank’s statement, the transition is effective immediately.

Maturi has led EFG Monaco as General Manager since 2009 and as CEO since 2018. He joined EFG Group 17 years ago when Banque Monégasque de Gestion (Unicredit Group) was acquired by EFG.

From Edmond de Rothschild to EFG

Ordioni most recently served as CEO of International Private Banking at Edmond de Rothschild from 2022 until January 2025 and chaired the firm’s Monaco and UK entities. Prior to that, he was CEO of Edmond de Rothschild’s Monaco operations from 2013 to 2022.

New General Manager

Additionally, EFG Monaco has appointed Matteo Mescolini, who has been Deputy General Manager and Co-Head of Private Banking since 2022, as General Manager with immediate effect.
