Former Army Chief Süssli Takes New Role at Private Bank

Kaiser Partner Privatbank is strengthening its leadership: Thomas Süssli, who served as head of the Swiss Armed Forces from 2020 to 2025, is being appointed to the board of directors of the Liechtenstein institution. The bank announced this on Tuesday.

Süssli brings many years of experience at the intersection of business, security, and technology, including in senior roles in the financial sector. «His particular expertise includes geopolitics, security and cyber topics, as well as digitalization.» For Kaiser Partner Privatbank, his network and security policy expertise are likely to be especially valuable.

From Army Command to the Boardroom

In addition to his role on the bank’s board, Süssli will also advise other business units within the Fritz Kaiser Group.

Fritz Kaiser, owner of the group, is quoted in the statement as saying: «He is an exceptional personality with strategic foresight, proven leadership experience, and a skill set that is particularly valuable to us.»

Vaduz with Growth Ambitions

Kaiser Partner Group is an owner-managed financial group based in Vaduz. In addition to the private bank, the group includes companies in the areas of trust services, family office, and real estate.

Süssli himself also expressed enthusiasm: «Supporting Fritz Kaiser and his companies during an important phase of development and contributing my experience in a targeted way is a particularly exciting task for me.»

The appointment of Mr. Süssli remains subject to approval by the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA).
