Helvetia Baloise Sets New Targets

Helvetia generated a profit of 633 million Swiss francs in the 2025 financial year. This corresponds to an increase of 19.8 percent compared to the previous year, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Baloise also delivered «a strong result» last year. The company generated shareholder profit of 409 million francs, representing an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year.

The Board of Directors is proposing a dividend of 7.70 francs per share to the Annual General Meeting. This corresponds to a total payout of 765 million francs and is just over 5 percent more than the two companies last distributed together.

Integration Underway

2025 was a strong year for Helvetia and Baloise, characterised by solid performance and margin expansion, CEO Fabian Rupprecht is quoted saying. «I am particularly pleased with how quickly we have come together an have been able to realize initial synergies.»

The integration of Helvetia and Baloise has been proceeding according to plan following the completion of the merger in early December 2025. By the end of the year, synergies and efficiencies of 139 million francs had been realized on a run-rate basis.

The group expects to reduce around 2,000 to 2,600 full-time positions across the organisation, which employs more than 22,000 people. By the end of March 2026, more than 1,100 employees had already left the company or received notice, the statement added.

New Financial Targets for 2028

The newly formed group has set new targets for the coming years, including annual growth in underlying earnings per share of 10 to 12 percent and a return on equity in the range of 16 to 18 percent. Shareholders are expected to benefit: the insurer plans higher dividend payouts totaling more than 2.8 billion francs between 2026 and 2028. In addition, the dividend per share in 2029 is expected to be more than 50 percent above the current level.

Details on how the newly formed insurance group intends to achieve these targets will be presented by the management team led by CEO Fabian Rupprecht at an investor meeting in London on Wednesday afternoon.
