GenTwo Recruits Vontobel's Blockchain Chief
GenTwo said on Tuesday that Florian Marty will assume immediate responsibility for the firm’s digital assets division, leading its next phase of global expansion and product development. The long-time Vontobel executive holds an MSc from EPFL and is a Certified Crypto Finance Expert.
The appointment is strategically notable. Marty spent more than a decade in Bank Vontobel’s investment banking arm — one of Switzerland’s pioneers in structured products.
In 2022, he was named Head of Blockchain Solutions, taking group-wide responsibility for all blockchain, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and cryptocurrency initiatives. He shaped Vontobel’s digital asset strategy and oversaw the rollout of institutional offerings.
Bridging Structured Products and Tokenization
The move is almost prototypical of a broader shift underway in Switzerland’s financial industry: the gradual convergence of the established structured products business and the emerging tokenization infrastructure layer. GenTwo positioned itself early as an institutional provider of digital structuring solutions, enabling tokenized and blockchain-based investments within a regulated framework.
«Digital assets have been part of our DNA since day one,» Philippe A. Naegeli, Co-Founder and CEO of GenTwo, said in the statement. The company, he added, recognized early on that tokenization would fundamentally reshape the creation and distribution of investment products.
Scaling the Assetization Model
Founded in 2018, GenTwo operates a B2B platform that allows banks, asset managers, and financial intermediaries to securitize and structure assets off balance sheet with operational efficiency. GenTwo Digital represents the blockchain-based assets extension of this model.
«The convergence of securitization, tokenization, and automation is redefining capital markets. GenTwo provides a proven platform to scale that transformation globally,» Marty said.
Since inception, GenTwo says it has supported more than 300 clients across 26 countries, structuring over 1,650 products with a combined volume exceeding 6.5 billion dollars.
