What do you do first in the morning?

My day starts very early, before dawn, with the Bloomberg and Financial Times apps as well as our internal market update from Singapore. After that, I head to the office.

What is the best part of your job?

Its multidimensionality. As an independent asset manager, I operate daily at the intersection of people, strategies, geopolitics, markets and entrepreneurship. The international nature of our group shapes and fascinates me in particular.

A moment that changed your life?

Professionally, it was less about individual moments and more about conscious decisions - for example, taking uncomfortable steps and starting over several times. Personally, it was clearly the birth of our daughter. She recorded my priorities; having dinner together as a family still holds a very high value for me.

What cars do you own? Which is your favorite?

After several Bavarian SUVs, i switched to Tesla - also in connection with the modernization of our residential building through a photovoltaic system. Currently ma favorite car. Despite everything.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Go abroad, build a network, don't take the easiest path. Life will become more inspiring, intense and self-determined as a result. I can attest to that.

What are you particularly proud of?

Of the constant drive to engage with new digital topics, and of my strong affinity for numbers. The passion for this naturally helps a great deal.

What do you do when you have doubts?

I communicate them. I have had mentors in every phase of my life. Exchanging views with people whose judgement I trust helps me put things into perspective.

Your favorite wine?

A delicate question – especially with a wife vrom Valais. But: EO from the Zurich State Winery. I quote: «A wine that tells its own story – wild, untamed, and yet surprisingly elegant.»

What projects are you currently working on?

AI is currently a central topic. At the same time, I am driven by the sustainable growth of Marcuard Heritage - standing still is not an option. Privately, I am involved in smaller internet projects and my blog.

What do you admire in other people?

Curiosity, clarity, and the ability to evolve.

What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?

The diversity and the intensity. A CEO role is a constant interplay of people, cultures, topics and decisions.

What is your personal drive?

Our role as independent asset managers. It allows us to focus on client benefit, independent of products and providers. In my view, this is the true DNA of Switzerland as a financial center.

What are you afraid of?

Of boredom. And of intellectual stagnation.

Your favorite watch brand?

The balance between innovation and tradition. Apple Watch on the right and Hublot on the left.

Is there an unfulfilled dream you would still like to realize?

To travel around the world, explore the major metropolises, and combine inspiration with a broader horizon.

Your best investment?

Our primary residence.
