Zurich’s Structured-Products Market Gets a Night Shift
As of Monday, SIX has launched a new segment called «Structured Products with Extended Trading Hours», enabling trading from 08:00 to 21:45 Swiss time — a substantial expansion beyond the existing 09:15 to 17:15 CET window. The extension was announced in a press release.
The broader window is designed to help retail investors, issuers, and brokers respond more dynamically to global developments, particularly as U.S. markets trade until 22:00.
Available Immediately
The new segment mirrors the existing one in functionality and is available immediately without additional setup or access requirements. According to SIX, more than 70,000 structured products are currently tradable on the exchange — dominated by leverage products, followed by yield enhancement, participation, and capital protection structures.
Driving Client Growth
Gregor Braun, Co-Head Cash Markets at SIX, said the move reflects «pragmatic innovation that drives our clients’ growth», reinforcing the exchange’s strategic retail focus.
Sébastien Neukom, Head Structured Products Sales, added that extended hours allow investors to track and act on U.S. market movements in real time, while issuers benefit from increased visibility and potential demand.
New Product Momentum
For investors and brokers, the change opens a broader investment window; for issuers, it expands regulated-market access and supports new product momentum.
Whether extended trading hours will also translate into longer working days for Zurich’s structured-products community remains an open question.
