Helvetia Launches Digital Pension Check

With its new digital pension check, Helvetia is bringing fresh momentum to the Swiss pension landscape. The free online tool allows anyone – regardless of customer status – to analyze their personal pension situation in just 90 seconds. At the heart of the tool is the so-called Financial Fitness Score, which depicts financial security in real time and enables comparisons with peer groups.

The next step is planned for 2026. From then on, most pension funds will print a QR code on the pension certificate containing all relevant data. «Helvetia is the first Swiss insurer to standardize the reading of this QR code and process the information instantly,» the company stated in its Thursday release.

Raising Awareness on Pensions

The pension check was developed in collaboration with insurtech firm vlot and takes into account factors such as retirement and risk coverage, family situation, and income. It can also be dynamically adjusted. Users can simulate improvements to their situation, for example by increasing their savings rate or adding additional coverage.

Helvetia aims to raise awareness about the importance of pensions. «With the Pension Check, we create transparency and guidance – for everyone who wants to actively shape their financial future,» emphasized Hedwig Ulmer, Head of Pensions and member of the Executive Board.
