Solid trading debut for Orascom Construction at Abu Dhabi market ADX
Orascom Construction ended its debut on Thursday with a gain of 26.37 percent, closing at 38.1 Emirati dirhams, according to the ADX website.
This followed the delisting of its shares on Wednesday from Nasdaq Dubai, the international stock exchange located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Orascom Construction will also relocate its offices from the DIFC to the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). A secondary listing on its home exchange, the Egyptian Exchange in Cairo, will remain in place.
In fiscal year 2024, Orascom Construction recorded an adjusted net profit of 117.3 million US dollars. The group, owned by the influential Sawiris billionaire family, is benefiting from the ongoing construction boom in the Gulf states, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
