Gulf Region: Most Important Weeks Are Beginning
Written by Gérard Al-Fil, Dubai
«From September to Christmas, you’ll barely have time to breathe,» joke bankers and executives in the Gulf. Business goals must be met by year-end, bonuses are within reach, and conferences fill the calendar. The reward for a packed schedule: new contacts, plenty of know-how, and good deals. It's clear that by the end of Q3 and throughout Q4, flights and hotel rooms in the Gulf are in high demand. So the rule is: «Book early, win half the battle.»
Mebis, Dubai, September 16–17
The Middle East Bank Innovation Summit (MEBIS) will be held at the prestigious business hotel Jumeirah Emirates Towers, known as JET. The elegant conference hall is less than a five-minute walk from the DIFC financial center. Top experts from the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe will explore how to solve the financial-tech «square circle» – the digitalization of money through Web3 and AI.

Gitex Technology Week, Dubai, October 13–17
Gitex is considered the mother of all tech fairs – at least for the regions it covers: the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA). Since the Dubai World Trade Center has not had enough space for its 6,500 exhibitors and over 200,000 trade visitors for years now, Gitex also utilizes venues in the Dubai Marina port area and, starting in 2026, the Expo City convention center. The 45th edition of the event this year will focus on AI, data centers, fintech, and cryptocurrencies.
Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit, Riyadh, October 27–30
The FII Summit is the most important calendar event for finance professionals with business interests in Saudi Arabia, a country that is slowly but rapidly transitioning from an oil exporter to a high-tech nation. It is organized by the sovereign wealth fund PIF and is accordingly well-funded.

Dubai Airshow, November 17–21
Although not a financial event per se, the Dubai Airshow is a popular magnet for bankers, fund managers, and insurance professionals. Why? Airline CEOs, aircraft manufacturers, heads of state, ministers, and wealthy individuals looking for the right private jet gather at this biennial mega-fair at the new Al Maktoum Airport. Aviation is a multi-billion-dollar industry, making corporate and private bankers a common sight at the Airshow.
Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW), December 8–11
ADFW is an investment summit organized for the fourth time this year by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the emirate's financial free zone. The event stands out with its top-tier speaker lineup, well-organized outdoor exhibition area (December brings perfect weather in the Gulf), and strong global media presence.
