The insurance group Zurich is acquiring BOXX Insurance Inc., a Toronto-based insurtech specializing in cyber risk protection and management.

According to the announcement on Thursday, BOXX will be integrated into Zurich Global Ventures (ZGV) to expand its cyber offering for private customers and SMEs. The insurtech will continue to operate under its own brand.

Over One Million Customers Worldwide

According to the press release, BOXX has continuously expanded geographically since its foundation in 2018 and now serves over one million customers on five continents. In November 2024, the company was awarded the title «Insurtech of the Year» by Insurance Business Canada.
