Maverix Securities is deepening its focus on digital assets: As the company announced Thursday, crypto investment firm GSR is joining as an equity partner. Headquartered in London, GSR operates globally with offices in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

As part of the collaboration, GSR will also take a seat on Maverix’s board of directors – represented by Alain Kunz, the firm’s Managing Director for Switzerland.

Crypto Pioneer Since 2013

Founded in 2013, GSR is one of the most established trading firms in the crypto space and holds licenses from two internationally recognized regulatory authorities. The company offers market-making, algorithmic trading, and liquidity solutions for institutional participants.

Together, Maverix and GSR aim to create a regulated product universe for professional investors – focusing on structured crypto products, exchange-traded products (ETPs), hedging tools, and tailor-made index strategies.

Products Coming Soon

The first products are expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

«We are seeing growing interest from investors in thoughtful, risk-managed exposure to digital assets,» said David Schmid, Co-CEO of Maverix. The partnership with GSR, he said, fits perfectly into Maverix’s selective partnership strategy.
