Berner Kantonalbank Restructures Its Organization

The BEKB is expanding its Executive Board from five to now six members. As stated in a press release on Thursday, the sales support areas will be consolidated within the new «Market Services» department.

This includes sales and infrastructure services as well as the customer center. The department will be headed by Stefan Moser, who will also join the Executive Board. He previously served as regional manager for Bern, Emmental, and Oberaargau.

Strengthening Innovation Capabilities

The creation of the new «Innovation/Digitalization» department also brings a «forward-looking focus of strategic importance,» the statement continues. This aims to further strengthen BEKB’s innovation capabilities and enhance its emphasis on digitalization.

The leadership of this department has not yet been decided. The position is currently in the process of being filled. Domenico Sottile will take over interim responsibility with immediate effect.

The goal is to unlock new potential through future-oriented technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and to advance the bank’s digital transformation through innovative solutions. Further development of secure and future-ready IT systems is central to BEKB’s strategy.

Sustainably Strengthening Market Position

«This is a crucial step in making BEKB even more efficient, innovative, and customer-oriented,» said BEKB CEO Armin Brun. «It lays the foundation to successfully meet the challenges of digital transformation and sustainably strengthen our market position.»
