Partners Group Makes Major Investment
On behalf of its clients, Partners Group has acquired the Australian data center operator Greensquare. According to a statement released on Thursday, the company plans to invest approximately 1,2 billion Australian dollar to drive the expansion of the business in multiple cities across the country. This amount translates to approximately 672 million francs.
The funds will be used to transform Greensquare into a next-generation data center platform. The company intends to follow a «proven approach» to scale the business. Since 2021, Partners Group has invested 4 billion US dollar in data centers.
Expansion of the Sydney Location
According to the statement, Greensquare already operates a facility in Sydney, which is set to be expanded. Additionally, the company has secured land options for further sites in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Key advantages include strong domestic fiber optic connections and excellent global connectivity via existing and planned submarine cables. The design and cooling technology of the data centers ensure efficient power and water usage, making them suitable for a wide range of server services.
