SIX Acquires Swiss Fund Information Service

SIX has acquired the shares of Swiss Fund Data (SFD) that were previously held by the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS), becoming the sole shareholder of the Swiss fund information provider.

The transaction was completed on Thursday, January 16, as SIX announced on Friday. No details regarding the purchase price or other financial specifics were disclosed.

Previously, AMAS held 70,6 percent of SFD’s shares, while SIX owned the remaining 29,4 percent.

Strengthening Engagement in the Fund Market

With this acquisition, SIX is strengthening its commitment to the Swiss fund market while continuing to provide transparent, reliable, and consistent data for domestic and international funds, the buyer emphasized.

SFD publishes comprehensive data on funds registered in Switzerland. This includes reference data, prices, corporate actions, documents, legal announcements, and news. The offering helps fund providers efficiently fulfill their regulatory disclosure obligations.

In addition to data on the local public fund market, SFD also provides information on real estate funds and voluntary pension funds (pillar 3 funds). This makes SFD the leading competence center for Swiss fund data and statistics, ensuring transparency.

The Heart of the Fund Ecosystem

«With this strategic acquisition, SIX strengthens its commitment to the Swiss financial center, particularly to the asset management and investor community,» said Marion Leslie, Head of Financial Information at SIX. «Swiss Fund Data is the regulatory heart of the Swiss fund ecosystem.»

SFD customers will benefit from the extensive resources and leading technologies of SIX, said AMAS CEO Adrian Schatzmann, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the data provider. «Reliable and transparent data about the Swiss fund market is essential for our industry.»
