Wealth Management Association Launches Technology Initiative

Good IT solution is crucial for wealth managers. But which solution is the right one? How can an IT project be successfully implemented? For many wealth managers, this is a mystery.

For this reason, the Association of Swiss Asset Managers (VSV) and EAM.Technology, an independent partner for technology, operations, and innovation, are currently conducting a study titled «Technology Radar 2024» on the system landscape in the wealth management ecosystem, as they announced.

Providing orientation and setting impulses

«We want to offer wealth managers guidance and impulses to advance their digitalization, increase efficiency and competitiveness, and reduce their operational risks,» says Oliver Maas from the Association of Swiss Asset Managers.

Among other things, the study aims to help members identify the levers, cost, and risk drivers in systems for a sustainable operating model and reduce the hurdles in implementation. At the same time, the study provides guidance on the provision of customizable frameworks of basic requirements along business processes.

Results to follow in the fall

Additionally, the association intends to create an overview of various providers. Only providers focused on wealth management that operate from Switzerland or at least have a local office here and comply with data protection regulations in Switzerland and Europe will be considered. Moreover, only established companies will be included, not startups, one-man operations, or proprietary developments, but providers of specialized tools for wealth and portfolio management.

The results of the study, including a provider matrix, will be made available to VSV members this coming fall.
