Smart Wealth Names AI Veteran Angelo Calvello to Advisory Board
Smart Wealth Asset Management has named Angelo Calvello to its advisory board. The move is designed to deepen the firm's institutional credentials and accelerate its global growth ambitions.
Calvello is a co-founder and former board chairman of Rosetta Analytics, an institutional investment firm specializing in AI-driven strategies. He also co-founded Blue Diamond Asset Management, a Zug-based hedge fund that managed $1.5 billion in assets.
Earlier career stops include Man Investments, State Street Global Advisors, Crédit Agricole Futures, and the CME Group.
Award-Winning Voice in Institutional Finance
Calvello is a regular contributor to Institutional Investor, Pensions & Investments, and the Financial Times. His column «The Doctor Is In» won the 2016 Jesse H. Neal Award for best commentary.
He is also the author of Environmental Alpha: Institutional Investors and Climate Change and a frequent speaker at global industry conferences.
In addition, Calvello holds several board and advisory positions, including chair of the Climate Advisory Panel at the Maryland State Retirement & Pension System.
Strategic Role at Smart Wealth
In his new capacity, Calvello will focus on advancing Smart Wealth's AI capabilities, strengthening institutional client relationships, and supporting long-term growth initiatives.
Founder and CEO Miró Mitev welcomed the appointment: «Angelo joins Smart Wealth at an important stage, as institutional partners continue to seek robust, AI-driven strategies. His deep expertise at the intersection of asset management and artificial intelligence will provide invaluable strategic guidance.»
Chairman Manuel Ebner called Calvello a highly respected figure in the global AI and asset management industry, citing his track record at the Man Group and his forward-thinking perspective on AI in finance as what makes him «an outstanding addition» to the advisory board.
Two Decades of Proprietary AI
Smart Wealth's AI technology has been developed by Mitev since 2000. The firm says its Multi Asset AI Flagship strategy has delivered consistent risk-adjusted outperformance across multiple market cycles, ranking among the top performers versus leading global multi-asset strategies while maintaining comparable volatility parameters.
