Cindy Eicher Has Big Plans for Zurich Investment House

Cindy Eicher Becomes CEO at DCP Client Partner. The Zurich-based investment house has been in the market for 20 years. However, it has so far failed to establish itself as a major player in the Swiss financial sector.

Eicher had therefore already warned the team that the news of her appointment would likely not make big waves: «Anyone who has too high expectations will only be disappointed—and we don't have time for disappointments,» she told finews.ch during an interview.

The Goal: Doubling the Assets Under Management

In the end, things turned out differently. The news did cause a stir. However, Eicher's behavior reveals a lot about her ambitions: Cindy Eicher is pushing forward; she wants to make the investment house more known and influential. She aims to double the assets under management (AuM), which currently stand at around 2 billion francs. She is giving herself five years to achieve this: «I have agreed on this with the owners,» she says. Since 2022, DCP Client Partner has been part of Quaestor Coach, a private market investor based in Zug.

DCP Client Partner specializes in income-oriented niches, hybrid bonds, and stocks plus options, catering to wealthy individuals and institutional investors:. «Our conditions are ideal,» she says. Hybrid bonds could be a good alternative to traditional interest business, especially for private banks.

Passionate Specialists, But Not Salespeople

The Zurich financial expert is full of praise for her new team. "We have a team here in Zurich that pursues their profession with incredible passion and strives to always get the best for the clients," she says. However, marketing has not been their strong suit. «DCP Client Partner has grown steadily over the years, but rather slowly because there was simply no marketing,» she says. Eicher wants to change this.

This task is familiar to her. She has done similar work in the past at the American financial giant J.P. Morgan as head of the Zurich branch. «I love such challenges,» she says. For this reason, she also decided to give up her self-employment: «I really wanted to be an entrepreneur myself,» she says. She is a team player, something she has realized time and again over the past two years as a self-employed person.

Eicher valued this experience and has taken on her new role with all the more vigor.  This certainly can't hurt because the challenges are significant.

A New Office in Geneva to Open in the Fall

Doubling the assets under management within five years – Eicher knows that this goal will be very difficult to achieve without collaborations and acquisitions. Therefore, she plans to open an office in Geneva this fall. She has already found a branch manager with international expertise (London and Hong Kong). «I hope we can announce this soon,» she says.

Eicher has high hopes for the French-speaking Swiss market. In French-speaking Switzerland, she says, there is a greater willingness to try out new financial products.

She Wanted Certainty That the Team Supports Her Course

In addition, she has begun talks with private banks and multi-family offices regarding cooperation. These are at an advanced stage: «We are gently testing the waters,» says Eicher. At the same time, they are also seeking proximity to insurers.

Eicher's start has indeed been successful, but there is still a long way to go; she is also aware that it will not be a solo effort. For this reason, Eicher also took her time to agree accept when she was approached. It was agreed that Eicher would familiarize herself with her new environment on a mandate basis. «I wanted to be sure that the team wants to embark on this journey with me,» she says. After a few months, she sensed this trust and signed as CEO. «It is much better than I imagined. There is a real enthusiasm — it’s simply fun,» she says.
