Simon Lussi will lead the Swiss operations at Bregal Unternehmerkapital's (BU) office in Zug, according to a statement released on Wednesday. He brings nearly 15 years of experience in the private equity sector.

Prior to joining BU, he worked at Capvis in Baar, Zug for ten years, most recently as a partner. Before that, he spent over four years at both McKinsey and Credit Suisse in the M&A department in London.

Expansion of Swiss Presence

In his new role at BU, Lussi will primarily drive the Swiss business forward. His expertise and network are expected to help expand BU's presence in Switzerland, the statement further noted.

In April 2023, BU opened its first office in Switzerland, in Zug, following its offices in Munich and Milan. Currently, 13 of the 50 investment managers are based in Zug, managing four Swiss investments. This includes Netrics, a company acquired in November 2023, which provides managed cloud and digital workplace solutions as well as consulting services for SME and enterprise customers.

Largest Mid-Cap Investor in the DACH Region

BU is an investment firm that, according to its own statements, focuses on partnerships with market leaders and «hidden champions» with strong management teams and growth potential. With 7 billion euros in raised capital since its founding, BU is reportedly the largest mid-cap investor headquartered in the DACH region.
