Ex-Raiffeisen Banker Heads to Finance Start-Up

Gentwo, a securitization platform co-founded by ex-Vontobel banker Patrick Loepfeis adding Beat Hodel as an adviser, it said in an emailed statement on Tuesday. Hodel was part of top management at Raiffeisen, a scandal-tarnished Swiss cooperative lender, until last year, as finews.com reported.

He will advise Gentwo on risk, regulation, and compliance issues as well as help the company develop the small-and mid-sized business segment, it said. He began his career in 1990 at a predecessor bank to Credit Suisse.

Hodel, a 14-year veteran of Raiffeisen during a period of heady growth under ex-CEO Pierin Vincenz, previously was a partner and EY and a board member at Esisuisse, Switzerland's deposit insurance. Gentwo counts techology expert Marc Bernegger and ex-Coutts banker Pierre-Noel Formigé among its advisers.
