Precious Metals Boost Realunit As Well
Realunit Schweiz, which specialises in real asset investments, had a strong year. According to the annual report published on Thursday, the company increased its pre-tax profit to 8,8 million francs, more than double the result achieved in 2024. The main contribution came from gains on physical gold and silver as well as corporate holdings. Precious metals alone generated profits of 9,7 million francs (previous year 4,0 million francs).
At the end of 2025, the company held 46,9 percent of its investments in precious metals (around two thirds in gold and the remainder in silver), 8,5 percent in cash in Swiss franc banknotes and around one third in corporate equities. Cryptocurrencies accounted for 3,2 percent.
Steady Demand from Germany
At the end of 2025, the net asset value (NAV) per share stood at 1,35 francs, an increase of 17,4 percent year on year. Net assets rose by 36,5 percent to 52,6 million francs over the past year.
Operating expenses increased significantly by 41 percent, mainly due to higher marketing costs targeting the German market as well as greater administrative expenses. The advertising efforts appear to be gaining traction: «During the past financial year, the investment company recorded steady demand from the northern neighbouring country for both its listed bearer shares and its tokenised registered shares.»
Value Stability and Crisis Resilience
Realunit CEO Daniel Stüssi commented: «The successful financial year 2025 shows that the Realunit real asset strategy proves its worth in times of geopolitical unrest and war. Our objectives of value stability and high crisis resilience have been achieved.»
The investment company has also benefited from geopolitical tensions in 2026. As of 4 March, the indicative NAV stood at 1,38 francs per share, an increase of 9,6 percent since the beginning of the year.
The bearer shares of Realunit, founded in 2017, are listed on BX Swiss, while the registered shares are structured as tokenised register securities on the Ethereum blockchain. The originator of the Realunit concept is former Lucerne private banker Karl Reichmuth, who already launched a real asset investment strategy under this name in 2001.
