The birth of each of my children changed my life.

A Volvo XC90 and a Jeep CJ-61973. The Jeep is my favorite car.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Follow your own path and listen to your instincts.
What are you particularly proud of?
My children, my parents, and Leonteq, which we turned into a unicorn in a very short period of time.
What do you do when you have doubts?
I do inward.

Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron.
What projects are you currently working on?
Appenzeller Huus, Ampia and King’s Fountain.
What do you admire in other people?
Above all, I admire intelligent people who pursue their own path.
What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?
How many things I manage simultaneously.
What is your personal drive?
My children and my parents.
What are you afraid of?
Maintaining the company culture is the most important thing - but it is also very fragile.
Your favorite watch brand?
H Moser & Cie, a gift I received as Entrepreneur of the Year.
Is there an unfulfilled dream you would still like to realize?
Traveling with sled dogs in Lapland, going from hut to hut.

Founding Leonteq.
Jan Schoch is the founder of Leonteq AG and one of Switzerland’s most prominent fintech pioneers. Following an international career in the financial industry, the Appenzell native repositioned himself in 2017. With the «Appenzeller Huus» he developed a flagship tourism project in Gonten that combines a hotel, spa, medical centre, gastronomy and residential living. In 2025, «Huus Quell” became the region’s first property to be awarded “Leading Hotels of the World.»
