What do you do first in the morning?

At the office, I start the day with a bit of physical activity. A few minutes on the bike and some light weight training are enough to wake me up and clear my mind.

What is the best thing about your job?

The variety. Every day brings new situations, people and challenges. In addition, I get to live out my passion for Italian cuisine and wine on a daily basis - which I consider a great privilege.

A moment that changed your life?

Without a doubt, the birth of my two daughters. And, of course, the moment I met their mother - my wife Melanie.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Listen to your inner voice and pursue the path that truly feels right.

What are you particularly proud of?

My daughters Allegra and Emilia. From a professional perspective, I am very pleased to see how concepts such as Ristorante Più and Trattoria Sempre have been so well received and continue to evolve successfully.

What do you do when you have doubts?

I take our dog Molly for a walk – it helps me gain perspective and calm my thoughts. I also value discussing things with my wife.

What is your favorite wine?

At the moment, I am particularly impressed by Tenuta del Nicchio, the newest winery founded by Lodovico Antinori and his daughter Sophia. Il Nicchio is an excellent choice for connoisseur who also appreciate wine as an investment. Their latest creation, Le 2 Ville, is also highly recommended.

What projects are you currently working on?

The Santa Lucia project in Zermatt. It is our first location in the mountains and, at the same time, the furthest from Zurich. For me, it represents an exciting step and a true passion project to which I am dedicating a great deal of energy.

What do you admire in other people?

I admire successful individuals who remain grounded despite their achievements. Modesty and humility impress me greatly.

What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?

How early the day starts – and how long it lasts.

What is your personal drive?

The Italian joie de vivre. Italy fascinates me in all its facets.

What are you afraid of?

Of myself. Just kidding. At 48, I have experienced quite a lot and have learned to approach life with greater calm. What I fear most is that something might happen to my loved ones, or that I might one day no longer be able to pursue what I currently do with such passion.

Is there an unfulfilled dream you would still like to realize?

I consider myself a content person. There are certainly a few trips I would still like to take. And if one day I am fortunate enough to become a proud grandfather, I look forward to being there for my grandchildren.

Your best investment?

My family and my business. These two areas have always been at the centre of my life – and that has proven tob e the right choice for me.
