After 27 Years: Corto Europe Hedge Fund Manager Leaves Pictet Asset Management

Philippe Sarreau, hedge fund manager and co-founder of the Pictet TR - Corto Europe Fund, has left Pictet Asset Management.

According to finews.com sources, he was based in Geneva and departed the firm in November. It's unclear what he's doing next. 

Sarreau, who joined Pictet in 1998, was previously head of the Pictet TR - Corto Europe fund and the Corto Europe Long Short fund, a feeder fund of the Pictet TR – Corto Europe (‘Master Fund’).

From 1998 to 2006, Sarreau served as a fund manager for European Small Caps at Pictet. He formerly worked at Credit Lyonnais in equity sales and as a financial analyst. Earlier in his career, he was an auditor at Coopers and Lybrand in Lyon, France.

The Pictet TR - Corto Europe hedge fund was originally launched in April 2010. As of 01.12.2025, Pictet TR - Corto Europe has a fund size of CHF 163 million.
