Silvio Denz: «Porsche Has Been with me Since my Youth.»
What do you do first in the morning?
A strong espresso, a quick glance at the news - and, if time allows, some exercise. Movement in the morning clears the mind and gives energy for the day. After that, I start structuring the day. I like it when everything is in balance before the day's dynamics take over.
What is the best thing about your job?
The freedom to turn visions into something tangible - whether it's a fragrance, a crystal artwork, or a wine that moves people. Translating beauty into substance is the privilege of my work.
A moment that changed your life?
The acquisition of Lalique. At that moment, I realized that entrepreneurship is not only about creating value but also about preserving and reinterpreting cultural heritage. Lalique embodies everything that drives me: craftsmanship, emotion, and timelessness.
What cars do you own? Which is your favorite?
I love beautiful and fast cars. Porsche has been with me since my youth - not just for the speed, but for the precision, design, and enduring character of the brand.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Trust your instincts, but never underestimate the power of discipline and patience. Success happens when passion meets consistency.
What are you particularly proud of?
That I've been able to shape Lalique into a vibrant, contemporary world of luxury - with perfume, art, interiors, wines, and hotels. We didn't just preserve the brand; we reimagined it.
What do you do when you have doubts?
I withdraw, reflect, and talk to people I trust. Doubts are part of the process - they sharpen your focus on what truly matters.
What is your favorite wine?
I have a special connection to Château Péby Faugères. It stands for precision, depth, and expression. But for me, a great wine is always an encounter, never a possession.
What projects are you currently working on?
On the opening of Villa Florhof, our new hotel in Zurich; on new limited editions in art and crystal; on collaborations with extraordinary artists; and on the further development of our bordeaux wineries.
What do you admire in other people?
Integrity, passion, and the ability to make decisions out of conviction rather than calculation.
What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?
How multifaceted it is. You have to be an entrepreneur, aesthete, strategist, and craftsman all at once - and still keep your inner compass.
What is your personal drive?
I want to create values that last - things with soul, that evoke emotion and endure for generations.
What are you afraid of?
Mental stagnation. As long as I remain curious, everything is fine.
Your favorite watch brand?
I have a weakness for watches that combine art and mechanics. The collaboration between Lalique and Jacob & Co. was a special chapter - two worlds united by precision and emotion.
Do you have an unfulfilled dream you would like to realize?
A total work of art in which wine, art, design, and craftsmanship merge in perfect harmony.
Your best investment?
Time - in people, in ideas, in brands with history. Material assets are fleeting; true substance is born from passion and tust.
