New CEO and Chairman for Oddo BHF Switzerland
Subject to approval by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma), Philippe Oddo is assuming the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oddo BHF (Switzerland) AG with immediate effect, the European financial group announced on Friday.
At the same time, the institution has appointed Hannes Gallus as its new CEO in Switzerland; his appointment also remains subject to Finma’s approval. «As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer, he has been instrumental in our development in Switzerland. As a Swiss national, he is well acquainted with local specificities and will oversee all key functions,» emphasized Philippe Oddo.
Serving as Interim CEO Since April
Gallus has been with the Oddo BHF Group for over 16 years. Since February 2019, he has been a member of the Executive Board of Oddo BHF (Switzerland) AG, responsible for the functions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Following the unexpected death of Martin Liebi, he additionally took over the role of Interim CEO in April 2025.
The Oddo BHF Group has been present in Zurich since acquiring BHF Bank in 2016. Between 2016 and 2025, the assets under management and the number of employees have tripled. The net banking income of the group’s Swiss unit has quadrupled during this period.
Open to New Acquisitions
This year, the institution expanded its equity brokerage and research business. Through its research team, the group now covers more than 60 Swiss stocks and aims to reach 90 by the end of the year. The year 2025 also marks the launch of M&A activities in Switzerland, reaffirming Oddo BHF’s intention to strengthen its presence among Swiss entrepreneurs and to enhance the attractiveness of Swiss companies to foreign investors.
«We have so far achieved strong organic growth and remain open to new acquisition opportunities,» said Philippe Oddo.
