What do you do first in the morning?

I like to step out onto my balcony, take in the view of the Glarus Alps, breathe deeply, and enjoy a brief moment of calm. After that, my coffee machine takes over as my energy source.  

What is the best thing about your job?

What I appreciate most ist hat in my current role, I get to work with many dedicated people to help shape the environment for Switzerland’s financial center – and in doing so, contribute to a strong economy.

A moment that changed your life?

The birth of my son – and our jogging sessions together today. By the time we reach the final sprint, I’ve truly learned what it means to be left behind without mercy.

What cars do you own? Which is your favorite?

I’m a firm believer in public transport. But when weekend shopping turns into a logistic challenge, my Mercedes comes to the rescue.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Embrace life, think big, and stay true to your values.

What are you particularly proud of?

This month, we launched the national communications campaign «The River » for Switzerland’s financial center – a major undertaking and a real team effort.

What do you do when you have doubts?

I go jogging ! It’s the best way for me to clear my head. My family also tends to suggest it whenever my energy at home becomes a bit too much to handle.

What is your favorite wine?

A full-bodied Sangiovese, ideally enjoyed in Florence.

What projects are you currently working on?

Right now, our focus is on the Banking Stability Project. Through proactive communication, we’re showing how targeted regulation can strengthen the Swiss financial center without overwhelming it with red tape.
And privately, we’re preparing for my husband’s milestone birthday.

What do you admire in other people?

Decisiveness and backbone – without relying on long CC lists as a safety net.

What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to take over your job for a day?

Everyone can communicate. But not everyone can do communication.

What is your personal drive?

I always need to keep things moving. For me, it’s important to grow together with the team through challenges and to make an impact.

What are you afraid of?

A large bag of paprika chips – because it usually doesn’t last long.

Your favorite watch brand?

I own one watch – an Omega Speedmaster. My parents and I pooled our money for it on my 30th birthday. So this watch doesn’t just keep time – it holds many fond memories.

Do you have an unfulfilled dream you'd like to realize?

To play a piece by J.S. Bach beautifully on a Steinway grand piano.

Your best investment?

My network.

Dagmar Laub is Head of Communications and Public Affairs and member of the executive board of the Swiss Bankers Association. Previously, she led Corporate Communications at Zürcher Kantonalbank and headed Group Communications at Raiffeisen Switzerland. She has extensive experience in the financial sector and holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
