Ex-Aquila CEO to Lead Swiss Association of Wealth Managers

The Swiss Association of Wealth Managers (SAM) is undergoing a shift at its operational helm. Longstanding CEO Patrick Dorner is stepping down, passing the baton to a proven expert in the industry.

As announced in today’s newsletter, Vivien Jain will officially take over as CEO of the SAM at the beginning of 2026. She succeeds Patrick Dorner, who will retire after years of leading the association.

Targeted Support

The SAM today serves as the umbrella organization for roughly 800 independent asset managers in Switzerland. Until the introduction of FINIG, it also acted as a self-regulatory organisation (SRO) alongside its advocacy role.

Since the regulatory shift, the association has concentrated solely on lobbying and member services. Its mission is to represent the concerns of independent asset managers and provide targeted support to strengthen their position in the Swiss financial market.

Deep Industry Knowledge

Few know the business better than Vivien Jain. The Canadian-Swiss dual citizen spent more than a decade with the Aquila Group, Switzerland’s leading platform for independent asset managers.

In 2021, Jain was appointed CEO of Aquila, overseeing a network of about 90 partner firms managing over 22 billion francs in client assets. Her career began at PwC, where she built her expertise in consulting before moving into asset management.

Logical Next Step

«I am very much looking forward to my new role, which is a logical next step in my professional career,» Jain said. «The SAM has changed significantly in recent years. It no longer supervises firms, but instead is fully committed to representing the interests of independent asset managers in Switzerland. I want to contribute to that mission.»
