Bank BSU with Slightly Lower Profit in Half-Year

In the first half of 2025, Bank BSU achieved a profit of 606,135 francs. The result is thus only slightly below that of the first half of 2024, according to a statement on Tuesday.

Despite the challenging interest rate environment, the regional bank increased gross interest income by 6.4 percent 5.39 million francs.

Growth in the mortgage business continued, and loans rose by 1.5 million francs. The balance sheet total as of the end of June 2025 amounted to 1.21 billion francs, 0.6 percent lower than at the beginning of the year. In the first half of the year, the bank repaid mortgage bond loans in the amount of 6 million francs.

The commission and services business also developed positively. Income here amounted to 0.79 million francs, 0.8 percent above the previous year's figure. In trading, which is strongly dependent on foreign exchange, income came to 0.22 million francs, representing a decline of 6.2 percent.

Operating expenses rose moderately by 0.75 percent to 5.6 million francs.

Growth in the Investment Business

The investment business showed notably strong growth, as custody account volumes rose by 11.1 million francs, or 12 percent. More than half of this increase was attributable to mandate solutions, which rose by 6 million francs, compared with an increase o f 4.8 million in the previous-year period.
