At the beginning of August, Zürcher Kantonalbank has appointed Holger Frey as the new lead portfolio manager of the sustainable «Swisscanto (LU) Equity Fund Sustainable Water».

According to a statement on Tuesday, the Equities & Themes team within asset management has thus been complemented by another seasoned investment professional.

Former Lead portfolio manager Gerhard Wagner, who had overseen the fund since 2008, will continue to support the team as deputy portfolio manager.

Prior to joining ZKB, Frey led an equity strategy focused on environmental technologies within UBS Asset Management starting in September 2024. Before that, he worked for around four years in the same area at Credit Suisse. Other professional positions included the investment company RobecoSAM in Zurich and the asset manager DWS in Frankfurt.

The sustainable Swisscanto strategy focusing on the investment theme of water and water protection will benefit from Holger Frey's long-standing investment expertise.

Under its Swisscanto product brand, ZKB offers five sustainable, actively managed equity funds on the long-term investment themes of water protection, climate protection, digital economy, healthy longevity, and circular economy.
