Volatility Drives Strong Revenue Growth at CFT

Compagnie Financière Tradition (CFT) recorded a 12,3 percent increase in revenue for the first half of 2025. Including joint ventures, revenue amounted to 632,1 million francs, the Lausanne-based company announced on Thursday.

Growth in the Interdealer Broking Business (IDB) reached 11,2 percent to 607,6 million francs, while revenue from Retail Investors (non-IDB) surged by nearly 48 percent to 24,5 million francs. The latter segment includes the Japanese platform Gaitame.com. The strong growth in Japan’s retail brokerage market was driven by the acquisition of Money Partners Group in December 2024.

In the second quarter alone, revenue grew even more sharply – by 12,8 percent to 310,1 million francs.

Growth Momentum Continues

The growth momentum observed in recent years continued into the first half of 2025, the company added. This performance was supported by high market volatility, triggered by ongoing uncertainty around monetary policy, the introduction of new trade barriers, and heightened geopolitical tensions. In this environment, the group recorded revenue growth across all asset classes and regions.

The company is one of the world's three largest brokers for over-the-counter (OTC) financial products. CFT is 70,89 percent owned by the French investment holding Viel & Cie., which also holds a 40 percent stake in Swiss Life Banque Privée in Paris and is a major shareholder in French online broker Bourse Direct.
