PK Rück Appoints Successor to long-standing CFO
At PK Rück, Chief Financial Officer Christoph Curtius is passing the baton to Cornelius Franken. The Board of Directors of the Schaan-based company has also decided to anchor the role of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Executive Board level. According to a press release issued on Friday, this will broaden the Executive Board and strengthen its expertise.
The company thanked founding member Curtius for his dedicated work on the Executive Board over two decades. He has had a decisive influence on the development of the company from the very beginning.
With Cornelius Franken, who has already assumed his new role, a qualified successor to the CFO has been appointed. He brings extensive expertise and over 30 years of experience in the life and non-life insurance sectors, including service as a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for finance, according to the statement. Most recently, as Managing Director and founder of CJF Consulting, he provided strategic advice on a range of projects and functions, focusing primarily on solvency-related manners.
The change in personnel change aims to realign the responsibilities of the CFO. A closer collaboration between the actuarial, finance, and asset management departments is planned.
CDO Appointed to the Executive Board
Chief Digital Officer Andreas Baer (pictured below) has also been appointed to the Executive Board. Baer has been with PK Rück since 2009 and took over the CDO position in 2023. He has played a key role in driving the company's digital transformation over the years – a process that remains ongoing.
In his role as Head of Investments from 2010, he was already consistently committed to the development of digital solutions and interfaces. He also played a key role in numerous cross-departmental digitalization and standardization projects.
