Goldman Sachs Bank Zurich has appointed Pascal Meinherz as General Manager. He currently leads a team focused on servicing German and Swiss clients, according to an internal memo seen by finews.com. He will become Head of Private Wealth Management for Swiss and international clients.

At the same time, CEO Dominique Wohnlich is leaving Goldman Sachs Bank Zurich after six years. He joined the bank in 2019 and has since expanded the Swiss Private Wealth Management (PWM) business within the EMEA region.

Meinherz will be responsible for driving growth and strategic initiatives as well as deepening client relationships, the memo states. He will also head the Executive Committee of Goldman Sachs Bank AG in his new role. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

The new General Manager joined Goldman Sachs in 2020 as Managing Director. Previously, he spent nearly four years at Credit Suisse as Head of Private Banking for Northern and Western Germany and around eight years at LGT in Private Banking and Asset Management.

Until 2006, Meinherz was also an athlete in Nordic combined skiing and represented Swiss-Ski in numerous international competitions.

More Than 50 Years in Zurich

Goldman Sachs has had a presence in Zurich since 1972. In 1992, the company established its Swiss private bank. The Swiss PWM business is among the fastest-growing divisions globally.

Currently, Goldman Sachs employs 160 people across various departments in Zurich. The new office space will accommodate up to 250 employees.
