Swiss Finance Institute COO Aims for Mayoral Office
The board of the FDP Adliswil has recommended to its members that Markus Bürgi be nominated as the party’s candidate for the mayoral election during the general renewal elections in March 2026. The party announced this on Thursday.
The Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO) of the Swiss Finance Institute has been active in Adliswil politics since 2018, serving as Head of the Department of Education and President of the School Board. Prior to that, he was Chair of the Auditing and Business Review Commission.
«Markus Bürgi impresses with his human, transparent, and respectful leadership style. He enjoys respect, sympathy, and trust far beyond party lines,» the party’s board stated.
«The city of Adliswil faces major challenges after years of strong growth—particularly due to a structural budget deficit of several million francs. What’s needed now are smart, careful, and balanced measures—but also, in part, fresh and bold ones,» Bürgi said.
The final decision on the nomination will be made by the FDP Adliswil members this fall.
