Patrick Prinz: «My Personal Drive Is Curiosity»
Every week, interesting personalities from the world of finance and beyond share their personal preferences in our section Backstage.
What do you do first in the morning?
I check the stock market prices and download the latest daily newspapers onto my iPad.
What is the best thing about your job?
Having the opportunity to get to know exciting personalities.
A moment that changed your life?
There is no such specific moment - I try to learn every day and move with the times.
What cars do you own? What ist your favorite?
A car with a hybrid drive, which is mostly in the garage. I prefer to travel by public transport - saves «dead» time.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Surround yourself with interesting people as often as possible and learn from them.
What are you particularly proud of?
My family roots in the beautiful Grisons.
What was your biggest defeat?
There are always defeats and they are part of the game. As a passionate tennis player, I follow the motto of Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka, who had this quote from Samuel Beckett tattooed on his arm: «Tried. Failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better»
What is your favorite wine?
Wines from the «Bündner Herrschaft» –wine-growing region - admittedly there is a certain bias here (see my answer to the question «What are you particularly proud of»).
Are you currently working on a project?
Professionally, I take care of customer projects on a daily basis; privately, I'm currently renovating a house.
What is most important to you at the moment?
To approach everything I do with a pinch of fun and a lot of passion.
What would be the biggest surprise for someone who had to do your job for a day?
The large number of fascinating private clients, entrepreneurs and personalities that we are privileged to serve at Julius Baer Switzerland.
What is your personal drive?
My personal driving force is my curiosity.
What are you afraid of?
I prefer to speak of «respect». Having «respect» for a task, for example, is an incentive to do something particularly well.
Your favorite watch brand?
Pull the joker - at Julius Baer we look after a number of clients who are connected with watches.
What do your employees value most about you ?
You'll have to ask my employees.
Your best Investment?
Any time I can spend with my loved ones and my family.
