Nordic Powerhouse Sets Foot in Zurich
«There is still more potential,» says Amra Koluder, Head of International Clients and Distribution at DNB Asset Management.
She is referring to the Swiss market. Last summer, the company announced plans to expand its presence in Switzerland. Now, it is official: DNB Asset Management is in the process to open its own office on Limmatquai.
«The Swiss financial center is one of the most developed financial markets—highly open, transparent, and with many similarities to the Nordic markets,» says Koluder.
A Major Player at Home, a Boutique Abroad
DNB Asset Management is backed by a giant: The company is a subsidiary of DNB Bank ASA, Norway’s largest financial services provider. The Norwegian government holds 34% of DNB’s outstanding shares.
The asset manager specializes in thematic funds and already serves numerous clients in Switzerland.
Now, DNB is seeking even closer collaboration with family offices, pension funds, banks, insurance companies and large corporations. «If business continues to develop as positively as it has, tailored products specifically for Switzerland will certainly be a topic of discussion,» Koluder says.
DNB Asset Management currently has a strong focus on technology investments. In addition, DNB also offers a diverse range of investments in Nordic equities and fixed income. Going forward, the firm aims to expand further into the healthcare sector, where it sees great opportunities.
