The Dutch Bank Powering Swiss Corporate Deals

«Ring the bell!», let the bell ring. At ING in Zurich, this is how they celebrate every acquisition or sometimes even welcome visitors.

The Dutch bank, present in the Swiss market since the early 1990’s, recently moved into its new office at Pelikanplatz in Zurich. Although the bank has offices in both Geneva and Zurich, it is now steadily increasing its market presence on the Limmat, keen to improve the wholesale footprint in the market.

Being a Partner for Swiss Companies

ING is now striving for more. A new office, more employees, growing to be more relevant to clients and partners.

Gregory Lambillon, CEO and Country Manager ING Switzerland: «We are in the process of positioning ourselves as an important partner for companies in the key Swiss economic sectors. The move to a larger and better location, and the expansion are also a commitment to Zurich as a financial center. Switzerland is an important market for us, and we aim to play a bigger role in the economies we operate in.»

Leveraging Momentum in the Swiss Market

Jochen Munzinger, Head of Sectors at ING Switzerland explains: «The Swiss financial market is currently experiencing a dynamic development and offers us exciting opportunities in wholesale banking. We recognize our clients’ increasing needs when it comes to tailored financial solutions and the business they operate in. We are helping our clients to grow and selectively expand our footprint».

ING has been increasingly involved in leading and coordinating roles such as  the takeover of Vodafone Italy by Swisscom in March last year and also in Axpo's sustainability linked facility.

The bank is also increasingly positioning itself in the area of sustainability. “This is a strategic priority for us. «Our aim is to help companies transition responsibly towards net zero targets and advise on various pathways,» says Lambillon.
