No Cooling in Sight for Swiss Real Estate Prices
As of the end of Q3, residential property prices in Switzerland were up by 1.7 percent year-over-year, and 0.5 percent compared to mid-year, according to data from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (BFS) in the Swiss Residential Property Price Index (IMPI).
During this quarter, the price increase for condominiums (+0.7 percent) was slightly higher than for single-family homes (+0.3 percent).

Price growth in the single-family home segment was mainly driven by large urban agglomerations and medium-sized urban municipalities, each showing an increase of 0.7 percent. Only intermediate municipalities saw a slight decline, with prices decreasing by 0.1 percent.
For condominiums, the most significant price increase occurred in medium-sized urban municipalities (+2.0 percent). In contrast, rural areas experienced a price decline of 1.9 percent.
By the end of September, the IMPI had reached 118.2 points, with a baseline of 100 set in Q4 2019.
