Markus Abeler: «Mortgage Volume is Rising Exponentially»

Mr. Abeler, Hypoteq achieved a mortgage volume increase of 71 percent above budget and a 235 percent year-over-year rise. How do you view future growth opportunities?

The growth potential of Hypoteq is immense for several reasons. Firstly, the mortgage volume of our 150+ distribution partners is rising exponentially, driven by our targeted support, training, and certification efforts, which are yielding tangible results. Secondly, the market is increasingly open to arranging mortgages through independent advisors. Our partners provide advisory services that extend beyond financing, considering all relevant contract terms and risk factors to benefit the client—an approach that sets us apart in the market. These strategies are crucial to reaching our target of CHF 1 billion in mortgage volume by 2028.

What role does the team play in the future success?

Our team consists of experts with extensive mortgage knowledge and robust technological skills—a combination essential for developing innovative, scalable solutions that add value for our partners and clients. We are continually expanding our team to meet increasing demand and support our rapid growth.

Hypoteq has a clear focus on the B2B sector, specifically on collaborating with qualified advisors. Why did you choose this approach, and what advantages does it bring?

Our partnerships with independent financial and pension advisors allow us to develop solutions that make the mortgage process more efficient and focused for all parties. This specialization enables us to offer the best solutions for clients and expand our market position.

«The market is increasingly open to arranging mortgages through independent advisors»

Our model allows us to create innovative, efficient offerings tailored to our partners' and their clients' needs.

You’re planning a Series A funding round in Q1 2025 to raise 2 million francs. How will this help achieve your growth targets?

The Series A round will enable us to scale our technology, form new partnerships with independent advisors, and strategically grow our team. We’re focusing on automation and digitalization to enhance platform efficiency and partner benefits. This funding will strengthen our market position and lay the groundwork to reach CHF 1 billion in mortgage volume by 2028. We’ve received commitments from existing private investors and are in advanced discussions with institutional investors, including insurers and banks, remaining open to new partnerships while retaining our independence.
