New Leadership for UBS Global Financial Sponsors Team
Angelia Schmidt will take on the role of Head of the Global Financial Sponsors Team within UBS's Global Wealth Management division, according to a letter to partner firms reviewed by finews.ch.
Schmidt will assume her new position on November 18, operating out of New York. She will report to Benjamin Cavalli in Zurich, Head of GWM Strategic Clients, and Jason Chandler, Chairman of GWM Americas, in the U.S.
The Global Financial Sponsors Team acts as a crucial bridge between over 1,000 asset managers on the UBS platform and UBS’s internal partners. With Schmidt's appointment, UBS aims to further strengthen its relationships with partner firms, as outlined in the communication to external asset managers.
With UBS Since 2017
Schmidt brings over 25 years of capital markets experience to the role. She joined UBS in 2017, where she was tasked with enhancing the public finance business as lead underwriter, making significant strides in the execution of new issuances. Previously, she spent more than 19 years at J.P. Morgan, where she served as a senior underwriter in the municipal finance team and led the distribution of taxable structured products in the Global Structured Syndicate.
«Throughout her career, Angelia has demonstrated a strong client focus, working seamlessly across the entire value chain with a comprehensive, end-to-end perspective and a steadfast approach to risk management. I am confident she will continue to build this partnership with you, and I look forward to our collaboration,» Cavalli emphasized in the letter.
