Strictly limited Aston Martin edition in honour of James Bond

The luxury carmaker  Aston Martin introduces the «DB12 Goldfinger Edition», crafted by «Q by Aston Martin», the brand's bespoke customisation program, marking this unique and enduring partnership with the iconic film franchise.

To mark this anniversary, there will be exactly 60 DB12 Goldfinger Edition cars. This is Aston Martin's way of honouring its partnership with James Bond, which spans more than half of the company's 111-year history. The price is likely to be well above the at least 225,000 francs that a  standard DB12 costs.

With Subtle Elements from «Golfinger»

In 1964, Aston Martin made its big-screen debut with the DB5 in Goldfinger. This appearance gave rise to one of the most significant partnerships in the history of cinema. The DB5 became one of the most famous cars in the world and one of the most important models in the DB line. Now the latest model in the series is also receiving the Bond treatment.

The DB5 from the film Goldfinger was equipped with technical gadgets that Bond needed to escape his adversaries. Meanwhile, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition focuses on providing an enjoyable James Bond driving experience, citing subtle elements from the film Goldfinger.

Iconic Silver Paintwork

In the Goldfinger Edition, the DB12 is presented in the iconic Silver Birch paintwork, which pays hommage to the DB5 from Goldfinger. Silver 21-inch multi-spoke wheels with a diamond finish are complemented by black brake calipers, bespoke gold side trims and a unique Aston Martin logo in silver with black enamel. The chrome-plated Q emblem on the fenders confirms that this DB12 has been given a very special touch.

In the interior of the special edition, the Sports Plus leather seats are fluted in the classic DB5 style and finished with an elaborate Prince of Wales check perforation pattern – a nod to a classic James Bond suit. This pattern extends to both the door panels and the headliner and is also etched on a unique running board. A polished sill plaque adorns the logo for Goldfinger's 60th anniversary.

World-famous Pool Scene in Miami

Inside, 18-carat gilded accents add a touch of luxury. They adorn the rotary wheel for the driving mode, the control rollers and the notched selector lever, which is inspired by the gold tracking device that Bond used in the film. This motif is also continued in the decorative inlays, where golden metal fibres are woven into the glossy carbon with the 2x2 twill.

A subtle reference for Bond connoisseurs is the eight of hearts embroidered on the driver's sun visor. This refers to the playing card that was last drawn in the film's famous pool scene in Miami.
