The asset management firm Carmignac, led by its founder Edouard Carmignac, has appointed several new members to its Board of Directors, including both internal and external candidates, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.

One of the new board members is Paolo Federici, who until February 2024 served as Head of Market for UBS Global Wealth Management in Italy. Until April 2024, he held the position of Chairman of UBS Fiduciaria.

Federici brings a wealth of experience, having spent 13 years at Fidelity International in various roles, including Head of Northern Europe, Head of Southern Europe & Latin America, and Global Head of Product.

The Other Newly Appointed Board Members Include:

Alexander Leisten, who served as a non-executive board member at Fidelity International, managing the company's business in Germany from 2014 to 2024. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management and the private bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie.

Habib Achkar, who worked at Morgan Stanley for over 30 years, holding key positions such as CEO for Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and North Africa operations. He currently advises top executives at global financial institutions, particularly in wealth management.

Pascale Guillier, who spent 15 years as a lawyer in Paris before becoming Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Agefi Actifs. She joined Carmignac in 2006 and served as Secretary-General until 2022.

Rose Ouahba, Managing Director at Carmignac, responsible for sales and marketing. Ouahba joined Carmignac in 2007 as a fund manager and led the bond team until 2023. Her early career included roles at Ecureuil Gestion and IXIS Asset Management.

Christophe Peronin, Managing Director at Carmignac, overseeing support and control functions. He has been with the firm since 2010, previously serving as Chief Operating Officer after holding various positions at AXA Investment Managers.

These new board members will bolster Carmignac’s supervisory body, which already includes the following members:

• Maxime Carmignac, Vice Chair and Managing Director of Carmignac UK
• Eric Helderlé, co-founder of Carmignac and former Managing Director of Carmignac Luxembourg until March 2024
• Gérard Corne, Managing Director of Groupe Gerifim and Geri International
• Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros, Chairman of ATL Gestora and Espinosa Partners Asesores, and former Vice Chairman of Kepler Capital Markets
• Eric Le Coz former portfolio manager and Managing Director of Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg until 2016
