Millionaires Celebrate a New Era of Crypto Acceptance
Globally, there are now 172,300 individuals who own more than one million dollars in crypto assets. This represents a 95 percent increase compared to the previous year, as reported by Henley & Partners.
This growth correlates with the overall expansion of digital assets, which have now reached a total value of 2.3 trillion dollars.
A New Era of Crypto Acceptance
«The surge in Bitcoin's price to over $73,000 last March marked a new all-time high, while the long-awaited approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs in the U.S. triggered a wave of institutional capital», Dominic Volek commented, Group Head of Private Clients at Henley & Partners.
«The anticipation of potential Solana ETFs joining the ‹Wall Street party› is likely to further drive this trend. These milestones mark a new era of crypto acceptance, as digital assets increasingly integrate with traditional finance and global mobility.»
Crypto Millionaires Considering Citizenship Options
In light of this, many crypto millionaires and billionaires are increasingly exploring alternative residency and citizenship options. In the second annual «Henley Crypto Adoption Index», Singapore ranks as the top crypto hub with a score of 45.7 out of 60 points, due to its technological innovation, regulatory framework, and infrastructure development in the Southeast Asian city-state.
Hon Kong ranks second, followed by the United Arab Emirates.
Freedom of Global Mobility
«The crypto millionaires of 2024 are not just satisfied with digital wealth. They seek the freedom of global mobility to align with their boundless assets», Volek interprets this migration trend.
Experts agree that in the digital gold rush, the most successful countries will be those that offer a well-functioning ecosystem for crypto investors – a combination of favorable regulation, robust infrastructure, and the opportunity to obtain a second citizenship or residency.
