Banking Industry Talk: What’s Next in the Mortgage Business?

For Swiss retail banks, 2023 was a «golden year.» Thanks to interest rate hikes by the Swiss National Bank (SNB), regional and cantonal banks in particular saw double-digit increases in operating profit. In the meantime, interest rates have fallen again, while property prices remain at record levels.

At the 11th Banking Industry Talk on September 5, hosted by schweizeraktien.net, Patrick Schnorf, Partner at the real estate consultancy WüestPartner, Lukas Vogt from Moneypark, and Aro Riku from Clientis BS Bank Schaffhausen will discuss the development of the mortgage business and the implications for the core business of regional and cantonal banks. The discussion will be moderated by Claude Baumann, founder of finews.com.

Measures to Increase Market Value

A case study will also demonstrate how retail banks can already offer their customers simple and straightforward access to cryptoassets such as Bitcoin and Ether.

Another discussion point will be the question of why the stock prices of regional and cantonal banks often do not reflect their intrinsic value, and what measures are necessary to increase market value.

At the beginning of the Banking Industry Talk, schweizeraktien.net will exclusively present the results of its industry analysis of regionally active banks.

The Banking Industry Talk will take place on September 5, starting at 3:30 PM at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Bern. finews.com is a media partner. Further information and registration details can be found here.
