1. Barbecue at Restaurant Buech, Herrliberg

Especially for August 1st, Restaurant Buech in Herrliberg, with a magnificent view over Lake Zurich and potential fireworks, will offer a variety of delicious grilled specialties from 6 PM. Chefs John Schiffmann and Joeri Zaman promise «culinary masterpieces»: juicy meats, fresh fish, and vegetarian delights.

The dinner begins with an appetizer buffet, and for dessert, there's homemade ice cream from Schlattgut farm, which, like Restaurant Buech, is part of The Living Circle.

The price is 119 francs per person.

2. August 1st Brunch at Uto Kulm

As an established institution, the Uto Kulm Hotel, located high on the Uetliberg, offers an extravagant outdoor brunch with views of the Swiss Alps, Lake Zurich, and Zurich. The culinary program includes a variety of cheeses, scrambled eggs with crispy bacon, and a chocolate fountain.

The offer served between 11 AM and 2 PM, includes the brunch buffet, a glass of prosecco, and breakfast beverages.

Adults can secure their entry for 75 francs, with special conditions for children up to 16 years old.

3. Raclette, Champagne, and Gourmet at Vitznauerhof

The renowned Vitznauerhof in Vitznau has planned a lot for August 1st. From 2 PM, the Raclette-Champagne Lounge opens in the garden.

Restaurant Sens serves a five-course menu for 145 francs per person in the evening.

Folkloric performances accompany the August 1st activities.

4. Crémant à Discretion at Zurich’s Sablier

The trendy Zurich rooftop restaurant Sablier offers a promising Swiss brunch for the Swiss National Day. Between 10 AM and 3 PM, the establishment serves a seven-course brunch menu celebrating exquisite Swiss ingredients—with optional Crémant à discretion.

The admission price is 94 francs without Crémant and 124 francs with Crémant.

5. Swiss Farmer’s Brunch on the Bürgenstock

For those drawn closer to the cradle of the Swiss Confederation, the Bürgenstock is a very viable option. At Bärgbeizli Hammetschwand on the Hammetschwand Alp, part of the large Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, a traditional «Swiss Farmer’s Brunch» is offered from 10:30 AM to 3 PM.

The program includes traditional brunch dishes or à la carte options, framed by folkloric performances: flag throwers, alphorn players, and folk music.

6. Mandarin Oriental Lucerne in Swiss Fever

In its «MOzern Brasserie», located directly on Lake Lucerne, the Mandarin Oriental serves a specially created August 1st menu all day. This consists of three courses: a mixed BBQ salad plate with coleslaw, cucumber, carrot, and noodle salads to start, grilled Swiss sausages (Cervelat, Olma Bratwurst, and farmer's sausage) as the main course, and a soft yogurt ice cream with strawberry swirl for dessert, including a large local beer.

The event is framed, hopefully, by an entertainment program with captivating performances such as alphorn players, flag displays, accordion music, and hopefully fireworks in the evening.

The August 1st menu costs 68 francs per person, including 0.5 liters of beer. There is also an à la carte option.

7. The Boutique Hotel Himmelrich, Kriens

A special August 1st menu is also available at the charming Boutique Hotel Himmelrich, located on the Pilatus mountain massif with breathtaking views of Lucerne and the lake.

The culinary delights—beef tartare as a starter, followed by truffle tagliolini, and beef entrecôte with chanterelles as the main course—are served with musical alphorn accompaniment.

And all this for 96 francs per person.
