Coller Capital Recruits UBS manager for new Zurich Office
Coller Capital has appointed Boris Maeder as Managing Director and Head of International Private Wealth Distribution. In addition to building the business in Switzerland, he will be responsible for expanding and leading teams in other regions outside the USA, as stated in a company announcement.
Maeder has been working in the financial industry for 24 years and was most recently employed at UBS Wealth Management. Over the past eight years, he served as Managing Director overseeing global distribution of private market solutions.
Prior to his tenure at UBS, he worked for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council sovereign wealth fund, where he was responsible for building the US private equity portfolio. Maeder has also worked at Auda Private Equity in New York, as well as Allianz and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in New York, Munich, and Frankfurt.
Strengthening collaboration with clients
With the establishment of the Zurich office, the company aims to strengthen collaboration with clients and intermediaries. The access to secondary investments is intended to be facilitated with quality suitable for institutional clients. Moreover, the growing demand from private wealth management clients will be addressed.
Coller intends to further expand the team of the Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions (PWSS) business unit, which currently consists of around 20 employees. Maeder will work closely with Jake Elmhirst, Head of PWSS.
Coller Capital, headquartered in London, was founded in 1990 and is, according to its own statements, a global leader in secondary market investing for private assets. In addition to Zurich, the company has offices in New York, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, and Luxembourg.
