Most global gold gets refined in Switzerland, yet little is known about where it comes from and how it is extracted.

Although Assaree’s founders wouldn’t go as far as to say that gold mining is sustainable, their company promotes a form of mining that combines artisanal mining and industrial processing and is less harmful to the environment and communities involved.

Assaree is also aiming to bring a new perspective into the financial industry with products that make a difference: «In order to make an impact, it is important to know your source,» they said.
