The Pictet Group has received a building permit for its new headquarters building in the Canton of Geneva from local authorities, the company announced on Thursday. 

Scheduled to open in 2025, the «Campus Pictet de Rochemont» project will provide space for 2,500 workers and almost 100 apartments in the cantonal municipality of Carouge, built in the 18th century by order of the King of Sardinia as a rival to the neighboring city of Geneva. It still retains its Italian character and has been referred to as «Geneva's Greenwich Village.»

Ecological model

The development of the Pictet de Rochemont campus, bills itself as an ecological model in architectural design, energy consumption and transportation links, in which non-motorized transport plays a central role.

The Pictet Group says it is building according to the strictest sustainability and quality standards based on 400 criteria, including the production of renewable energy, water consumption, ecological as well as recycled building materials. 

Green Spaces

In collaboration with the Canton of Geneva and the City of Carouge, the Pictet de Rochemont campus will create a public park and new walkable green spaces that favor biodiversity. Helping these efforts will also be the partial reopening of the Drize river in the immediate vicinity.
