EFG Hires IAM Expert From Credit Suisse
EFG Bank appointed Daniel Zuercher as head of independent asset managers (IAM) in Switzerland, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
The expansion of the IAM business across all regions is one of the pillars of its expansion strategy, the company said. Zuercher will coordinate the work of teams based in Lugano, Zurich and Geneva and pursue the further development of their activities. He will report to Franco Polloni, head of Switzerland and Italy at EFG.
A Long Career at Credit Suisse
Zuercher, 44, has a lot of experience in the business with independent wealth managers. He was in charge of business development in IAM at Swiss Universal Bank of Credit Suisse.
After his studies in Italy and at University of St. Gallen, Zuercher started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and later joined Credit Suisse. He has an executive MBA from Columbia University and London Business School.
Expanding the IAM Business
EFG made the appointment in connection with its plan to expand the IAM business and to reinforce its structure, services and product line. The bank had added a multi-custody platform a year ago, a platform it had launched together with AM-One.
