Rodrigo Lacerda Soares will leave the company at the end of 2021. Most recently, he was head of private banking for the Latin American market.

A spokesman for Bank Syz confirmed this, adding that Soares was moving to a family office and would maintain close links with the bank.

In the next few months, Sébastien Bouchet will depart after a good six years. He is currently chief operating officer and head of IT.

He is moving to a larger bank in Geneva, where he will mainly be responsible for IT. The search for a successor is advancing well with many highly qualified candidates in the pipeline.

Bank Syz outsourced a large part of its IT to private bank Lombard Odier some time ago.

Setting up Independently

Mehdi Lakhdar has also left Bank Syz. The Genevan previously worked in asset management in Switzerland. He has become self-employed and, with his company acts as a legal guardian, including on matters of asset management.

Bank Syz’ website also shows that former attorney-in-chief and board member Silvain Matthey has left the group. Catherine Motamedi joined as General Counsel in early 2020.

Newcomers

The spokesman said that the bank had created two new positions: Chief Investment Officer and Head of Private Banking, Switzerland. Both hires are expected to be announced in the next months.

Four months ago, Bank Syz hired Antoine Denis as its new head of advisory. He had previously worked in the same position for Geneva-based private bank Bordier for almost ten years.

Returning to Fold

Valérie Noël has returned to the bank. She has been head of trading since April, as finews.com reported at the time. She previously worked for Syz for 14 years before a brief spell at Geneva-based FlowBank, which was founded in 2020, and then coming back on board.
