Swiss Fintech Nabs Ex-Standard Chartered Investment Banker

The Zurich-based fintech is appointing James Courtenay to its board, FQX said in an emailed statement. Courtenay was head of international corporates at Standard Chartered's investment bank until four years ago.

Based in Singapore, Courtenay previously worked for ABN Amro as head of high-yield and leveraged finance, and prior to this built up these activities for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Europe.

FQX is focused on the transfer of money via electronic promissory notes on blockchain. It has partnered with Swiss telecommunications incumbent Swisscom as well as crypto bank Sygnum.
